Waterfront Campus

The National Aquarium is reimagining its waterfront campus as a conservation laboratory and place for immersing the public in ecosystems of the Chesapeake Bay. Highlights include a half-acre floating salt marsh exhibit, a learning dock, a tidal marsh exhibit, new interpretation, wayfinding signage and a redefined campus edge. Environmental education is an essential part of the Aquarium’s strategy for promoting conservation, so the floating learning dock has been designed to facilitate a range of functions, including hosting visiting school groups and providing a living laboratory for citizen science and conservation research. Jonathan served as Principal-in-Charge and Landscape Architect for both the master plan and landscape implementation project as a principal at Ayers Saint Gross.
