Clemson University | Reflection Pond

The Reflection Pond is an iconic feature at the heart of Clemson’s core campus. Its prominent position along the axis between the Bowman Field and Cooper Library makes it a natural opportunity for positively impacting the everyday experiences of students, faculty and staff. And, in fact, the pond has left its mark on the experiences and memories of many generations of Clemson students since it was first constructed – as attested to by both current students and alumni. The University is embarking on a phased renovation of this aging feature, which will transform it into a more accessible and engaging campus landscape with intentional gathering spaces and pockets for individual retreat and student wellness. Working in partnership with WK Dickson engineers, we helped the University formulate vision for the future character and programming of the space. And we are currently providing full design services for an initial phase of construction that will include updating water systems as well as resculpting the water's edge to make it a richer experience and more accommodating to Clemson's diverse community.
